The main problem with making potato pancakes or dranyky is that grated potatoes turn black quite quickly. And this happens in the process of chopping the vegetable. However, there is one simple life hack that will help solve the problem.

The idea of making golden potato pancakes with mayonnaise, the batter for which does not blacken, was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Victoria with the nickname viktoria__cooking. The life hack is to grate potatoes and onions alternately (in parts). Then the batter simply won't have time to blacken because the onion will act quickly.

Ingredients:

  • potatoes - 600 g
  • flour - 4-5 tbsp
  • garlic - 5 cloves
  • onions - 2 medium
  • eggs - 2 pcs.
  • semolina - 2 tbsp
  • mayonnaise - 2 tbsp.

Method of preparation:

1. Grate potatoes on a fine grater, alternating with onion each time as its juice will prevent the potatoes from turning black.

2. Add eggs, flour, semolina, chopped garlic, salt, pepper and mayonnaise.

3. Mix everything thoroughly.

4. Fry the pancakes in a well-heated pan in vegetable oil until golden brown.

5. Transfer to a napkin to get rid of excess oil.
