Khinkali with juicy meat stuffing: easier to prepare than dumplings
Popular Georgian khinkali can be easily prepared at home. The dish is based on a simple dough with water and minced meat filling. The khinkali are very juicy and hold their shape perfectly after boiling.
Chef Serhii, known as sergeypokanevich, shared a recipe for juicy meat khinkali on his Instagram page.
Ingredients:
For the dough:
- flour - 1 kg
- salt
- water - 350 ml
For the filling:
- minced meat - 500 g
- salt, pepper
- cilantro - 1 bunch
- onions - 1 pc
- water - 100 ml
Method of preparation:
1. Prepare dough. Mix salt, flour and water. Knead it.
2. Divide it into several parts. Roll out each of them and wrap them in a tube. Wrap the finished tubes in plastic film and put them in the freezer for a while.
3. Meanwhile, prepare the filling. Chop cilantro and parsley.
4. Mix the chopped ingredients with minced meat and water. Season with salt and pepper.
5. After preparing the filling, take the tubes out of the freezer. Cut them into medium-sized pieces. Roll each of them into a circle.
6. Put the filling and form the khinkali.
7. Boil them in salted water with bay leaves and peppercorns.
