Italian focaccia bread: how to make flavorful pastries
Focaccia is a delicious Italian pastry that can be a substitute for the usual bread. The base for the dish is made with water and yeast, which can also be supplemented with toppings: sausage, cheese, tomatoes, spices, or herbs.
Food blogger Julia Kopetsoni (julia_kopetsoni) shared a recipe for a flavorful focaccia bread on her Instagram page, which is made using the simplest yeast dough.
Ingredients:
- flour - 240 g
- dry yeast - 3 g
- sugar - 8 g
- salt - 5 g
- water - 150 ml
- olive oil - 30 ml
- sun-dried tomatoes + caraway seeds (for lubrication)
How to cook:
1. Chop the garlic and mash in a mortar and pestle with olive oil.
2. Add salt and cumin leaves to the resulting mass.
3. Chop and add the sun-dried tomatoes to the mixture.
4. To prepare the dough, mix water, salt, sugar and yeast.
5. Add flour and knead into a smooth dough. Leave it in a warm place to increase in volume.
6. After that, put the finished dough on a baking sheet or in a baking dish. Leave it again to increase slightly in volume.
7. Next, grease the surface of the focaccia with the filling.
8. Bake at 220 degrees for 20 minutes.
