How to make sourdough bread: a quick and easy recipe

Sourdough bread is a great alternative to the usual yeast bread. However, not every housewife dares to make it because it takes too much time.

And recently, smakoluk.ua published a recipe for sourdough bread on Instagram, which is much faster than other similar products. So, it's finally time to try making this wonderful product and fill your kitchen with an incredible flavor.

Ingredients for two loaves of bread. Dough

  • Flour - 120 grams
  • Sourdough starter - 20 g
  • Water at room temperature - 120 g

How to prepare the dough

1. Take the starter out of the refrigerator in the evening. In the morning, add it to the water and mix well until completely dissolved.

2. Add the flour and mix well again.

3. Cover loosely and place in a warm place for 8-12 hours.

Ingredients for two loaves of bread. The brew

  • Boiling water - 300 grams
  • Dry malt - 60 g
  • Rye flour - 120 + 30 g

How to prepare the brew

1. Mix 120 grams of flour with malt. Pour boiling water over everything and stir.

2. Add another 30 grams of flour and mix again.

3. Put in an oven preheated to 65 degrees for 2 hours, or use a thermos.

Ingredients for two loaves of bread. Dough

  • Dough
  • Malt dressing - 420 g
  • Water at room temperature - 330 g
  • Whole wheat flour - 235 g
  • High-grade flour - 500 g
  • Salt - 15 g
  • Honey - 60 g

Method of making the dough

1. Add the dough, salt, honey and malt dressing to the water. Mix everything well. You should get a not very homogeneous mass.

2. Add the flour and knead the dough until it becomes homogeneous.

3. Grease a tray with a lid with vegetable oil and put the dough into it.

4. Put the tray in a warm place with a temperature of 22-24 degrees for 3-5 hours. During this time, the dough should increase in volume by 2-3 times. Stretch and fold the dough every hour.

5. Divide the dough into two equal parts, round them, cover with cling film and leave for 20 minutes.

Method of making bread

1. Form the loaves and place them in the proofing baskets. Cover with foil and leave for 1.5-2.5 hours.

2. Put the dough on parchment and make cuts.

3. Bake the bread in a preheated 250-degree oven under a lid for 15 minutes.

4. Lower the oven temperature to 210 degrees, remove the lid from the dough and bake for another 15 minutes.
