How to make crispy dough for verguns: add one secret ingredient

Verguns or, as they are also called, khmyz are sweet fried dough products that are sprinkled with powder. This is a favorite of all children. But the main condition for such a dessert is that the dough does not tear after frying, but rather breaks and is crispy. To do this, you need to add one special ingredient to the mass.

The idea of making crispy verguns was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Valeria with the nickname valerikiry. You need to add a little vodka to the dough.

Ingredients:

  • egg - 1 pc.
  • vodka - 1 tbsp
  • water - 1 tbsp
  • flour - 140 g
  • salt - 0.5 tsp
  • powdered sugar - 100 g

Method of preparation:

1. Beat the egg and add vodka and water, mix well.

2. Add flour in stages. First 70 g, then 40 g, and then knead on the table adding a little flour. You may need a little less or more, depending on the size of the egg.

3. The dough should be soft and elastic - leave it to rest for an hour.

4. Roll out the dough into a thin layer and cut out strips, make diamonds, make a small cut in the middle, and push one edge inward.

5. Fry in preheated vegetable oil until golden brown on both sides.

6. Put it on a napkin.

7. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy.
