Lemon is not only a delicious fruit that is used in many dishes - from desserts to salads and soups - but is also a powerful cleaning agent as it contains citric acid.

One of the most common problems in the kitchen is limescale in an electric kettle. If you don't want to use chemicals to clean it or you simply don't have any at hand, you should try this life hack. It was tested by one of the authors of the Express publication.

Thus, he notes that he decided to use a simple way to clean the kettle, which was published by fans of the Mrs. Hinch Cleaning Tips group on Facebook. It took a few lemons to do it.

Here's how it works:

1. Pour water into the kettle to a level below the minimum. This is done to reduce the acidity of the lemons.

2. Cut the fruit into thin slices and place in the kettle.

3. Boil the water with the lemons inside. After that, leave the kettle for another 30 minutes to allow the solution to infuse.

4. After that, pour out the solution and rinse the kettle with cold water. Then wipe it with a cloth. For greater effect, you can clean the walls with a microfiber cloth.

As the author of the publication notes, he was pleasantly surprised by the result. "I was amazed that something so cheap and simple removez hard limescale deposits," he wrote.
