Herring stuffed with processed cheese: a budget appetizer for all occasions
In addition to pickled, salted, and baked herring, you can make one unusual and budget-friendly appetizer from herring, namely stuffed herring. It is usually made with processed cheese, vegetables, and mayonnaise.
One of the culinary blogs (mama_moze_tato_dopomoze) posted a recipe for stuffed herring with processed cheese, egg, onions, and Korean-style carrots on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- herring - 1 pc
- boiled egg - 1 pc
- processed cheese - 1 pc
- Korean-style carrots - 100 g
- onion - 1\2 pcs
- mayonnaise
Method of preparation:
1. Divide the fish into two fillets, remove the skin and put it on cling film. Slightly cut off the upper protruding part of the fish.
2. Grate the cheese, cut the onion into half rings and grate the egg on a fine grater.
3. Put the ingredients on top of the fish as follows: cheese, mayonnaise, egg, onion, mayonnaise, carrots, pieces of cut herring. Wrap everything in a roll.
4. Leave the finished roll in the freezer for 2 hours. When serving, cut into portions.
