Iconic Potato cakes: we share the perfect cooking technology
When it comes to Potato cakes, fond childhood memories immediately come to mind. This dessert has been prepared for children by mothers and grandmothers for generations. Therefore, in order to continue the tradition, you need to learn the right cooking technique.
The idea of making the popular Potato cakes was published on the Instagram page of a food blogger with the nickname recepty_przepisy. It is based on a very delicate sponge cake dough.
Ingredients:
- 4 eggs
- a pinch of salt
- 150 g of sugar
- 40 g of cocoa
- 150 g of flour
- 50 g of melted butter
Ingredients for the cream:
- 200 g soft butter
- 200 g of raw condensed milk
- 2-3 tbsp of cognac (optional)
Additionally:
- 100 g walnuts
- biscuits for sprinkling / coconut / nuts / cocoa
Method of preparation:
1. For the sponge cake, add salt to the eggs and beat until fluffy.
2. Then add the flour in parts and beat until stiff.
3. Combine cocoa and flour, mix with a whisk, then sift the flour mixture into the beaten eggs in two stages.
4. Stir with a silicone spatula, then pour in the cooled melted butter and stir again.
5. Pour the dough onto a parchment-lined oven tray and smooth it out.
6. Bake at 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes until tender, cool.
7. Then grind the cake into crumbs in a blender. Also grind the nuts.
8. Combine the crumbs of the cake with the nuts. Beat the soft butter separately with condensed milk.
9. Combine everything and mix so that the mass is well molded.
10. Form the potatoes, then roll them in cookie crumbs/coconut/nuts/cocoa. Put in the refrigerator for a few hours.
