A la Raffaello: budget homemade sweets with coconut
Once upon a time, these sweets were given as gifts for the holidays because they had an unusual taste and beautiful packaging. Nowadays, they are a common treat for everyone, although they are more expensive than some other candies. However, their taste is still unsurpassed.
A food blogger with the nickname zhuravlina_cooking tried to replicate it at home. She posted a recipe for fairly budget-friendly sweets a la Raffaello on Instagram.
Ingredients
- Milk - 300 ml
- Semolina - 90 gr
- Coconut flakes - 90 gr
- Butter - 60-70 gr
- Vanilla sugar - 10 g
- Sugar - 70 g
- Almonds or other nuts
Method of preparation
1. Add semolina to cold milk, put on fire and stir while heating.
2. Add sugar, vanilla sugar, butter and stir until dissolved over low heat.
3. Add the coconut and mix until smooth with a spatula.
4. Cool the mass to room temperature, shape the candies and, if desired, add a nut to taste.
5. Roll them in coconut, put them on a plate, and put them in the fridge overnight.
