Brief biography
Manny Pacquiao was born on December 17, 1978 in the town of Kibawa, Philippines.
He was born into a very poor family. Already at the age of 13 was forced to leave school and start working as a street vendor.
At the age of 14 Pacquiao fled to Manila to set up his sports career there. However, he got on a boxing show only two years later.
He joined the national boxing team of the Philippines. Had a total of 60 fights throughout his amateur career and won a number of local championships.
The government paid for Manny Pacquiao's food and lodging, due to his family's poverty.
He later moved to America. There, his first trainer was Frederick Roach.
The first fight in the professional career of Manny Pacquiao took place in 1995.
He won his first title in 1997.
During the years of his career, he held 70 fights, of which 61 ended with the victory of Manny Pacquiao.
As of 2019, Manny Pacquiao is the only boxer in the world who has won championship titles in eight different weight categories.

Manny Pacquiao is married. His wife is Jinkee Pacquiao. The couple got married back in 2000, shortly after they met. There are five children in the Pacquiao family. They are Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao Jr, Michael Stephen Pacquiao, Izrail Pacquiao, Mary Divine Grace Pacquiao and Quinn Elizabeth Pacquiao.
