Igor Kirillov
Igor Kirillov is a Russian military officer. Head of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense Troops of the Russian Armed Forces. Lieutenant General.
Brief biographyIgor Kirillov was born on July 13, 1970. In 1987 he joined the Soviet army.
In 1991 he graduated from the Kostroma Higher Military Command School of Chemical Defense.
His entire career was built in the army of the aggressor country. In April 2017, Kirillov became head of the Russian Armed Forces' chemical defense troops.
War in UkraineKirillov was one of a cohort of Russian officials who spread misinformation about the presence of laboratories in Ukraine that were used to create biological weapons. These claims were never proven even by Russia, despite claims that the occupiers seized documents from one of these laboratories.
Kirillov also claimed that Ukraine was planning a "dirty bomb" provocation. No evidence of this was ever presented.
On December 16, 2024, the Security Service of Ukraine declared suspicion in absentia against Kirillov for ordering the use of chemical weapons against the Ukrainian military during a full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation.
DeathOn December 17, 2024, Kirillov was killed in Moscow. According to an OBOZ.UA source, Kirillov and his assistant were liquidated during an SBU special operation using a scooter with explosives.
The improvised "bomb" was detonated at the moment when Kirillov and his assistant entered the entrance of a house on Ryazansky Prospect in Moscow. Both were liquidated on the spot.
