The Lebanese organization Hezbollah has announced that it supports a truce with Israel. The militants are ready to agree to a ceasefire as the Israeli Defense Forces continue to attack their top leadership.

Over the past two weeks, the IDF has killed three Hezbollah leaders: Hassan Nasrallah, Hashim Safi al-Din, and the latter's successor. This was reported by The Jerusalem Post.

Hezbollah's deputy leader Naim Qassem noted that after the ceasefire is resolved by diplomatic means, further details can be discussed and appropriate decisions can be made.

"If the enemy (Israel – Ed.) continues its war, then everything will be decided on the battlefield," he said.

The journalists noted that it is unclear whether this indicates a change in the position of Hezbollah, which has been saying for the past year that it is fighting to support both Hamas and the Palestinian people in their war with Israel and will not stop without a ceasefire in Gaza.

Previously, Hezbollah linked a possible truce in Lebanon to a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, where the Israeli army is conducting an operation against Hamas, but Qassem did not mention this condition in his latest statement.

US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said that Israel has not accepted the ceasefire. The phrase "ceasefire," he explained, had meaning only if it included an agreement on Hezbollah's withdrawal from Israel's northern border and return to the Litani River, as provided for in UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which detailed the terms of the ceasefire that ended the Second Lebanon War.

– On September 27, the Israel Defense Forces launched a powerful strike on Dahiyeh, a suburb of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. The target was the main headquarters of Hezbollah. This strike eliminated the leader of the Hezbollah terrorist group, Hassan Nasrallah. Along with him, other militant leaders were killed in the bunker.

– On the night of October 3, the IDF launched a massive strike on the southern suburbs of Beirut. The strike targeted an underground Hezbollah bunker. It eliminated the militant group's new leader, Hashim Safi al-Din, who had been in charge for only 48 hours.

– Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has confirmed the elimination of Hezbollah's new leader, Hashem Safi al-Din, who was the target of an air strike in Beirut last Thursday. The Israeli prime minister also claims that the IDF killed Safi al-Din's successor.
