Europe must be prepared for Trump's victory and its consequences - Czech president

This may be disadvantageous for Ukraine in particular

Czech President Petr Pavel has said that Europe should prepare for the possibility of former US President Donald Trump winning the US presidential election. This could have quite negative consequences for both Europe and Ukraine.

He spoke about this in an interview with TVN24. According to Pavel, if Trump wins the election, the United States will make a deal with Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin, which could be disadvantageous for Ukraine in particular.

"In this case, we will be faced with a fait accompli that we will have to deal with. It is not about undermining transatlantic ties or questioning the United States as an ally, but we have to recognize realistically that Donald Trump sees many things differently," he explained.

The Czech leader added that if Trump wins the democratic election, the decision of the American people must be respected.

"Still, we must be prepared for this because there will be certain consequences," he explained.

In addition, Petr Pavel also emphasized that Ukraine, unlike Russia, currently has limited capabilities on the battlefield. Therefore, the allies recommend limiting offensive actions and strengthening defense.

According to the Czech leader, Kyiv needs not only purely defensive weapons but also weapons that will disrupt the supply routes of the Russian army. For example, artillery or longer-range cruise missiles, as well as F-16 aircraft.

"Only a balance of power can make both sides realize that they cannot achieve further success and that it is time for negotiations," he added.

As a reminder, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban repeatedly praised the odious politician Donald Trump, once calling him "the most successful US president in the international arena." Orban hinted that Russia's full-scale war in Ukraine would not have happened if Trump had been in charge.

Recently, Donald Trump announced his intention to fight with the Senate agreement on the US state border to the last. He also praised Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson for declaring the bill "dead."
