Russia attacked Odesa region with Onyx supersonic missiles: port infrastructure was hit

On the night of October 7, the Russian occupiers attacked the civilian and port infrastructure of the Odesa region with supersonic Onyx missiles. A building of a boarding house and a grain storage facility near the port were hit, and four people were injured.

The consequences of another war crime of the invaders were reported on Telegram by the Southern Defense Forces and the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration Oleh Kiper. It is noted that the missiles were fired from the Bastion coastal missile system in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Missile fragments and a blast wave caused a fire in a garage cooperative, damaged several apartment buildings, and smashed windows.

According to Kiper, four people were injured by glass shards. The victims were provided with all the necessary medical care.

As previously explained by the Ukrainian Air Force, the Onyx missile is designed to destroy ships. This is also the key feature of the Onyx as they fly very low over the water, which makes them virtually unattainable for Ukrainian air defense.
