Next year, we will have our own cruise and ballistic missiles: Director of "Spetstechnoexport" tells about the production of weapons in Ukraine

Ukraine is working on its own cruise and ballistic missiles. The Defense Forces may receive them next year.

Oleksii Petrov, director of the state enterprise "Spetstechnoexport," shared this forecast. In an interview with OBOZ.UA, he said that he had seen flight tests of domestic missiles, and "there are results."

"I would say that the state and, finally, the private sector are moving in this direction. And it was a smart decision to remove the monopoly on the missile industry. Therefore, I think that we will have our own missiles, such as cruise and ballistic missiles, by mid-2025," the expert said.

He called it a positive thing that we are now developing our own (including private) production.

For example, Ukraine produces 155-mm NATO-standard shells. They can operate at "a fairly favorable distance to fight the enemy."

"In addition, Ukrainian state-owned companies are trying to restore or expand the production of Soviet-standard ammunition, which, unfortunately, we cannot get rid of yet. A 152-mm round that flies 30 kilometers is extremely necessary, as well as 122-mm rounds. They are in constant shortage because they were used in large numbers by the defense forces," Petrov said.

As reported by OBOZ.UA:

– Ukrainian-made UAVs have already destroyed more than 200 military targets in the Russian Federation, including those located more than 1000 km from the border with Ukraine, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said earlier.

– In Naples, Italy, Umerov called for investment in the Ukrainian defense industry in his speech at a meeting of G7 defense ministers.

– He also announced that citizens will learn details about our large missile program either by the end of this year or in 2025.
