"Every air defense system is important": Zelensky reacted to recent Russian attack on Kyiv and spoke about agreements with Biden
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to the night missile attack on Kyiv on December 13. He thanked the Air Force and partners for protecting Ukrainian skies, as well as all rescue services.
The president's statement was published on Telegram. He assured that Ukraine will continue to work to increase its defense capabilities and has already made new arrangements.
"There were 10 ballistic missiles last night. I am grateful to our Air Force and partners. All victims are being provided with assistance," the president wrote.
He noted that only the day before he had agreed with US President Joe Biden to work on increasing the number of air defense systems in Ukraine, and the terrorist country immediately demonstrated how important this decision was.
"Every additional air defense system is important. Every batch of missiles for air defense systems is important. It is important for people, important for cities and important for Ukraine. It saves lives!" the President emphasized.
It should be noted that according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, last night, the occupiers launched 10 ballistic missiles at the Ukrainian capital, including S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles and Iskander cruise missiles.
The Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed all the missiles. The consequences of the attack are being clarified.
It is known that only PATRIOT and SAMP/T systems, of which there are only four in Ukraine, can shoot down ballistic missiles.
As the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andrii Yermak, clarified on Telegram, the enemy could have struck Kyiv with 48N6 missiles from the S400 complex.
"The Russians targeted a critical infrastructure facility. We know what they are trying to hit," the head of the OP added.
