Zelenskyy told how many Patriot batteries Ukraine needs to protect its skies

Zelenskyy told how many Patriot systems Ukraine needs

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine needs 50 Patriot batteries to protect itself from the occupiers' attacks. Only then will the enemy lose the ability to intimidate the population of our country.

This was reported by the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal. According to the President, the Patriot surface-to-air missile system is the only weapon capable of shooting down some Russian missiles, so Ukraine needs more of these systems.

"Today, the only weapon that is capable of stopping some types of Russian missiles that it uses against our civilian population, schools, infrastructure, energy system, the only system in the world is Patriot. This is what this war has taught us," Zelenskyy said.

He added that the presence of such surface-to-air missile systems simply disables Russia's ability to intimidate tens of millions of Ukrainians.

"The reality is as follows: 50 Patriot batteries - and most people will not die," the president said.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL:

- On June 2, in Moldova, Zelenskyy said that before receiving fighter jets, Ukraine needs to be protected by a large number of air defence systems, including Patriot. According to him, it was Patriot that showed that any type of aggressor missile could be shot down.

- The Netherlands is considering supplying Ukraine with additional Patriot surface-to-air missile systems.
