Zelenskyy says Ukrainian army can surprise, but does not comment on the attack on Kursk region

Zelenskyy praises Ukrainian army for its ability to "surprise"

On Thursday, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy praised the Ukrainian army for its ability to "surprise" and achieve results. At the same time, the head of state did not directly mention the offensive in the Kursk region of Russia.

This was reported by Reuters. According to the publication, the Ukrainian side seems to be adhering to a strategy of strict silence regarding activities in the Kursk region of Russia, where, according to Moscow, fighting has been going on since Tuesday.

"Everyone can see that the Ukrainian army can surprise. And it knows how to achieve results," Zelenskyy said at an event to present a new digital application called Army+ to reduce paperwork for the military.

"This demonstrates the battlefield, where our soldiers not only withstood the superior force of the occupiers but also destroyed it as necessary to protect Ukraine – our state and independence," he said.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region have advanced up to 10 kilometers into Russia. The armored vehicles of the Defense Forces have taken up positions along the 38K-030 Sudzha – Korenevo highway.

As a reminder, on August 6, the Russian Defense Ministry said that Ukrainian units had broken through into the Kursk region in the Sudzha and Korenevo districts and gained a foothold in border villages.
