Ukraine does not need to ask for permission from the United States to attack military targets in the Russian Federation with its own weapons. In addition, the Defense Forces were allowed to use American-made weapons along the border of the aggressor country.

This was stated by State Department spokesman Matthew Miller in response to journalists' questions. In fact, the official did not give a direct answer about long-range operations with Western weapons.

"First of all, Ukraine does not need our permission to launch retaliatory strikes against Russian targets. They are a sovereign country and can use the weapons they have developed on their own, and they have a lot of them," the US Foreign Service spokesman said. He reminded that Kyiv is developing its own defense industry.

The United States also does not mind the Ukrainian Armed Forces hitting Russian targets near the border, where Russian troops are launching offensives.

That's why Ukraine has a great potential for defense, Miller said evasively, adding that the United States supports and will continue to support Ukrainians.

As reported by OBOZ.UA:

- German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock said that the partners should give Kyiv permission to carry out long-range strikes on military targets in Russia with Western weapons. This is necessary for self-defense.

- Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky shared which targets the Armed Forces of Ukraine want to strike deep into Russia. He said that our country continues to engage in dialogue with Washington.
