Russian troops are trying to capture Synkivka to create conditions for blocking Kupiansk - Syrskyi

In order to create the conditions for blocking Kupiansk, the Russian army is trying to capture the village of Synkivka in the Kharkiv region with meat assaults. The enemy is suffering significant losses in manpower, so it is deploying reserves.

This was announced by the Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi on his Telegram channel on December 11. The colonel-general said that Russian troops continue their offensive in Kupiansk, Lyman, and Bakhmut directions.

The enemy is actively fighting in the areas of Novoselivske, Stelmakhivka, Lyman Pershyi and Siversk.

In the area of Lyman, the occupants are trying to push Ukrainian defenders beyond the Chornyi Zherebets River and out of the area of Serebryanske forestry.

The occupiers are conducting unsuccessful assault operations in the direction of Zhytlivka and Terny villages. There is a constant movement of Russian Armed Forces personnel from the territory of the Russian Federation to man the assault units.

The occupants are concentrating significant efforts in the Bakhmut direction, north and west of the city.

Syrskyi said that enemy airborne units, special forces, and servicemen of the 200th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Russian Northern Fleet are involved in the assault.

"Despite the difficult conditions and undeniable offensive actions of the occupants, our soldiers are steadfastly holding their positions, demonstrating high professionalism, courage and heroism," colonel-general said.

Syrskyi assured that commanders and staffs of all levels are analyzing the operational situation around the clock in cooperation with units of other branches of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and developing effective ways to further destroy the enemy.

According to him, in the east of our country, Russian losses are about eight times higher than Ukrainian losses. Despite this, the Russian occupiers rely on human resources.

The Defense Forces have a different tactic: our soldiers are trying to achieve success through successful tactical actions, accurate artillery, mortars, attack drones and small arms fire.

In November alone, about 11,000 enemy personnel and more than 1,100 pieces of military equipment (including about 130 tanks and 260 pieces of artillery and mortars of various calibers) were destroyed.
