Kozhevnikov throws a tantrum over Russia's ban from the World Hockey Championship

Two-time Olympic champion Alexander Kozhevnikov threw a real tantrum after a Hungarian fan was forced to take off his shirt with the words "Russia" on it at the World Ice Hockey Championship. The incident in Tampere, Finland, caused a fit of rage among the representative of the aggressor country, who also called for the expulsion of anyone with a Latvian passport from Russia (Riga is another host of the World Cup - ed.)

Kozhevnikov said this in a fit of madness in a commentary to the RB Sport portal. He called the ban on the mention of Russia at the 2023 ice hockey championship "pure fascism" and, in the best traditions of Kremlin propaganda, accused international federations of politicising sport.

"An incident with a fan wearing a T-shirt with the words 'Russia' on it? How do I know what's going on there? Fascism is happening there! Don't you know that? Pure fascism! You should probably calm down. What else is there to do? Ask the politicians. Am I a politician? I would kick everyone with Latvian passports out of here," said the former USSR national team striker.

It should be noted that before the start of the World Championship, the organisers announced that the flags of Russia and Belarus were banned from the arenas in Riga and Tampere.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, the Russian propaganda TV channel Match TV interrupted the broadcast of the 2023 World Cup hockey match between Latvia and Canada because a banner in support of Ukraine appeared on the stand.
