Boxing champion of the 2024 Olympics harassed in Russia

Russian propaganda has organized a real harassment of the Paris 2024 Olympic boxing champion Iman Khelif. Kremlin-controlled media outlets have unanimously published the "sensational" results of a study by the French newspaper Le Correspondant, which reveals the medical details of the 25-year-old Algerian's examination.

The Russians reported that Iman had no uterus, but instead had testicles and a "micropenis." The doctors also allegedly found that the Algerian woman had a male XY karyotype and a testosterone level characteristic of men.

Le Correspondant is a little-known publication: other sites have cited it only about 70 times since 2019. The site's description says that it was created by the great reporter Jaffer Ait Audia. He is also the head of the publication.

The text contains only two cropped photographs of a computer screen with a document describing a woman's medical problems - she is called "Iman" (the surname Khelif is not mentioned in these documents). The rest of the information about Khelif's health is given in the author's interpretation.

The authors point out that "Le Correspondant has gained access to Imani Khelif's medical file, which is carefully concealed by the Algerian Boxing Federation and the athlete herself. The dossier is stored in two prestigious clinics: the Kremlin-Bicentennial Hospital in Paris and the Mohamed Lamine Debaghi Hospital, and she is being monitored by leading endocrinologists."

The style of the "investigation" itself cannot be called neutral, Medusa writes. The first paragraph quotes Vladimir Putin. Then the author repeatedly uses evaluative and ironic expressions to characterize the boxer (for example, he writes that "the beauty started a fight in a hotel"). The text cites many discrediting stories from Iman Khelif's life, but their sources are mostly not indicated. At one point, the author refers to an unnamed "close friend of Khelif's", and in other cases, he simply describes the events as fact without providing any evidence.
