Välbe insulted Bach

The president of the Russian Ski Racing Federation, Yelena Välbe, has lashed out at the president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach. The accomplice of dictator Vladimir Putin's regime accused the official of conspiring with Ukraine against Russian athletes.

Välbe said this in an interview with the propaganda TV channel Match TV. The three-time Olympic champion in relay racing called Bach an abomination and added that she would never shake hands with the German ex-fencer. The Russian woman also accused the IOC head of the fact that his father had participated in World War II.

"For me, Thomas Bach is a real abomination after this. I can't say anything else. Now I don't respect him as an Olympic champion. It's no secret that during the war his father was shooting at the Russians (it is known that Andreas Bach was taken prisoner by the Soviet army, then returned home and died in 1968 - Ed.) If I ever see Bach, I will never shake his hand again," said Välbe.

Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov criticized Bach and accused the IOC of "usurping the right to sport." And Olympic speed skating champion Svetlana Zhurova accused the IOC of humiliating Russians and treating them "like second-class citizens."

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the head of the Russian Wrestling Federation Mikhail Mamiashvili lashed out at the IOC, calling the organization "a bunch of sectarians, scoundrels, fraudsters."
