In Russia, the Olympic champion's call to drop a bomb on London was called a joke that the West "for some reason does not understand"
Olympic champion Svetlana Zhurova hypocritically reacted to the words of the president of the Russian Ski Federation, Elena Välbe, who suggested "dropping a serious bomb on London" to return Russia to world sport. The State Duma deputy and Vladimir Putin's regime ally called this statement a joke.
Zhurova said this in a comment to the Lenta.ru portal. The former speed skater, who became the 2006 Turin champion, added that "for some reason, the West does not understand such jokes" and called for "radical solutions to Ukraine" that repels Russian aggression.
"It's a joke. It's just that such a joke is dangerous, because we realize that the West will immediately start to perceive it as aggression. For some reason, they don't understand such jokes, they think that we should do it. You realize that this will not solve the issue. Although she was joking, she was saying figuratively that, of course, we need to do something more radical in terms of communicating with them. But it has to do with Ukraine, and London has nothing to do with it. Any direction of our strikes towards NATO will not end well for the whole world," Zhurova said.
Earlier, four-time Olympic champion Alexander Tikhonov said that Russia should become the master of the planet after a "super-powerful agreement with Burkina Faso."
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, famous Russian figure skating coach Tatyana Tarasova became a laughingstock online after saying that Russia was great.
