Olympic high jump champion Yaroslava Maguchikh said that during the 2024 Olympics in Paris, there was a condition related to the presence of Russian media. According to Yaroslava, Ukrainian athletes would have boycotted any press conferences with representatives of Russian journalists.

"As for the journalists, it was a great work of our federation, our press attaché. She knew what could happen and said that if there was any Russian journalist, my athletes would not give interviews to anyone at all," Maguchikh said on the We-Ukraine YouTube channel.

Yaroslava is very pleased that none of the athletes from the aggressor country participated in the 2024 Games in the French capital.

"Thank God that in our country, for example, in athletics, the international federation (World Athletics) introduced a rule and did not allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in this Olympics. They have not been competing since the beginning of the invasion, because Sebastian Coe [head of World Athletics] is in full solidarity with Ukrainian athletes. They (World Athletics) support and helped us at the beginning of the war," the world record holder emphasized.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Maguchikh won all five stages of the Diamond League in high jump in which she participated, taking first place in all of them, including the final in Brussels.

The athletes receive $10,000 each for winning the stage, and $30,000 for winning gold in the final. Maguchikh's prize money amounted to $40,000+$30,000, or $70,000.

It should be noted that Yaroslava received $175 thousand for her performance at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

After the historic season, which saw her become a world record holder and Olympic champion, Maguchikh addressed the fans and soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
