Media calls cancer the cause of Adnan Kivan's death

Adnan Kivan was born in 1962 in Syria. He received his education at the Odesa Academy of Food Technologies (he defended his PhD in engineering in Russia).

In Ukraine, he built his real estate business, mainly in Odesa. In this city, his company has commissioned more than 50 residential complexes and built shopping and business centers.

He was the owner of the Kyiv Post and Odesa-based Channel 7, as well as the company Zerno Agro and others.

In 2021, Kivan was among the top 100 richest people in Ukraine. Forbes estimated his wealth at $240 million.

"Business is not a science that can be taught to people in schools, it is super luck from God. And wealth is an absolute gift... Two things help us – prayer and the fact that we have money," Forbes quoted the entrepreneur as saying.

Kivan financed the construction of the Arab Cultural Center of Odesa and the Eastern Cultural Center.
