"We need new energy": Zelenskyy explains government reshuffle
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the reshuffle in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. He explained it by the need to strengthen the state's policy in various areas, including diplomacy.
Zelenskyy made the statement during a joint press conference with Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris. "I have already spoken about the reset of our Cabinet of Ministers. I am very grateful to the ministers and the entire Cabinet team who have been working for Ukraine for four and a half years, and some for five years," the Head of State said.
Now the government needs new energy, he said.
"Today we need new energy. These steps are connected with strengthening our state in various directions, and international policy and diplomacy are no exception," the President said.
Answering a question about the future of the dismissed officials, he said he could not predict what exactly a particular minister would do.
"There will be answers when they are offered certain positions. It is too early to talk about this today," Zelenskyy said.
