Jacketed potatoes take a long time to cook, and they don't always turn out the way you'd like. The best version of this dish should have a crispy crust and be airy and tender in the middle.

Phil Vickery, a famous chef, recently told the YouTube channel "This Morning" that most people cook jacket potatoes incorrectly. He also offered a great alternative that would make the dish perfect.

As it turns out, all you need to make jacket potatoes is the vegetable itself, seasoning, a little oil, and... a tablespoon. It plays a key role in this process and ensures even cooking in less time.

Vickery showed us how to cook jacket potatoes. He put the clean and dry vegetables in the microwave for 3 minutes. After that, he turned it over to the other side and turned on the timer again for the same time. This will speed up the time it takes to bake.

Next, Phil placed the potatoes on a baking sheet, cut them crosswise, and drizzled them with oil. Adding salt and pepper, he could have already put the vegetable in the oven for further baking. But before the chits, he had to implement the main life hack, which required a tablespoon. He simply stuck its handle into the potato itself, and only then put it in the oven. Thanks to this method, you can reduce the time for cooking potatoes from 1 hour to 35-45 minutes.
