What used cars should not be bought for a family: they will not justify the money spent
When choosing a car for your family, you should be especially picky and cautious. Reliability and comfort indicators and, of course, the price-quality ratio come to the fore.
Many families do not see the point in buying a brand-new vehicle and choosing a used model. Experts have compiled a list of the worst used family cars that are not worth your money, and this list may surprise you. These popular models have shown poor results in crash tests, and potential buyers should avoid them.
Mazda CX-9
The Mazda CX-9 received the lowest score in its class in the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) crash test. So, of course, you shouldn't choose this car as a family vehicle.
On the other hand, the CX-5, a compact SUV alternative to the CX-9, has much better results in safety tests, so it would be a more reliable choice.
Honda Fit
This compact sedan is not suitable for large families. The Honda Fit does not perform well in crash tests and certainly does not stand up to competition with better and more spacious models.
Another thing you should pay attention to is the ease of installing car seats. Installing a car seat in a small car like the Fit can be inconvenient and time-consuming.
Toyota Sienna
Surprisingly, the Sienna, Toyota's iconic family minivan, doesn't hold a candle to the competition when it comes to car seat installation. So if you have small children, it's best to look for a car with LATCH.
LATCH is a system that allows for a simple car seat installation process. Recently, it has been used in many family cars. This child safety innovation makes installing a car seat simple, quick, and safe.
Dodge Journey
Although the Dodge Journey is a popular car for many families, it does not do well when it comes to safety.
The Dodge Journey received the lowest rating in the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's most difficult crash test. It is better to avoid this SUV if you are looking for a reliable family car. Among the cars of similar shape and size, pay attention to the Ford Flex.
Corvette
Everything is quite clear here: sports cars are not known for their safety. Corvettes have never been advertised as "family cars." The Corvette manufacturer is well aware that families are not their target group.
