What to keep in the trunk: a list of things every driver will need
All drivers know that, according to the traffic rules, there should be a list of mandatory items in the trunk. But in case of force majeure, you should be safe, because sometimes the basic list is not enough.
The driver and passengers may encounter certain troubles on the road. It is better to foresee them in advance and "stock up" on everything you need. OBOZREVATEL has compiled a list of things that every driver will need.
Emergency kit
Everything is simple and obvious here, the presence of these things in the trunk is provided for by current legislation. We are talking about:
- first aid kit
- fire extinguisher
- reflective vest;
- triangular emergency warning sign.
Let's talk more about the first aid kit. The following items are needed to properly and properly equip it
- sterile and non-sterile bandages of different widths (5 packs of each)
- gauze bags
- tourniquet;
- 1 roll of ordinary plaster
- bactericidal patches
- a device for artificial respiration
- medical gloves;
- scissors.
Pharmaceuticals should be prepared separately, in particular
- painkillers
- drugs for the cardiovascular system
- anti-inflammatory drugs
- broad-spectrum antibiotics
- disinfectants
- a non-mercury, non-contact thermometer.
Things in case of force majeure
A spare tire
In the city, everything is simple - in case of a flat tire, you can call a tow truck or get to the nearest tire service on your own. The situation becomes more complicated if you're traveling on a long journey. So it's best to equip your car with a spare tire or a puncture repair kit.
Jack and wrench
Based on the previous point, you should equip your car with a jack and a wrench. Usually, they are included in the car, but experts advise replacing them with better and more reliable ones.
Compressor or pump
If you suddenly need to inflate a tire (because anything can happen), don't forget to take a compressor or pump. Again, this is especially true for long trips.
Towing cable
Another must-have in case of force majeure. The cable will help when towing the car to a service or save it in a situation where it is stuck in mud, snow or sand. The length of the cable should be at least 4 meters.
Fuel
Experienced drivers take an extra can of fuel for a long journey. You can even take a small one, at least 10 liters. There can be many situations when you need a fuel reserve. Sometimes, seemingly reliable fuel gauges fail, so even the most vigilant drivers can get into trouble.
Useful little things
You need to have napkins, water, and hygiene products in the car. Experts also recommend stocking up on a pair of gloves - they will come in handy if you have to change a tire or make emergency repairs.
