"Throwing humans around": Putin to increase the size of Russian army by 10%, US responded

Putin has increased the mobilization force

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree to increase the size of the Russian Defense Ministry's army. He now wants 1,320,000 people to serve in the army.

This is because the Kremlin fears new "threats" from NATO as the so-called "SMO" continues. This was reported by Russian media.

"An additional build-up of the Russian Armed Forces' combat personnel and strength is an adequate response to NATO's aggressive activities," the document, which Putin signed, says.

The Russian Armed Forces will fulfill the dictator's decree in stages at the expense of Russians who wish to serve under contract. No significant increase in conscription is planned, and no mobilization is envisaged.

The United States reacted to this news by noting that the Russian dictator is once again trying to achieve his goals on the battlefield at the expense of human lives, throwing them around.

"There's no doubt that he (Putin - Ed.) is literally throwing humans around to try to hold on to the territory they've illegally occupied in Ukraine and to try to seize even more," said John Kirby, coordinator of the White House National Security Council, during a briefing.

Earlier this year, the Russian Defense Ministry hatched a plan to increase the number of soldiers in the country. At that time, the army numbered 1 million Russian soldiers and even 2 million reservists.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, a 23-year-old Russian man committed suicide in Moscow because he did not want to serve in Putin's army. He went to one of the shooting clubs in the center of the Russian capital and shot himself in the head.
