Sauerkraut is an inexhaustible source of a large number of vitamins and minerals. It is also a delicious dish that can be used to make fillings for pies, dumplings, and even added to first courses.
Food blogger Myroslava Pekaryuk shared on Instagram how to cook sauerkraut so that it doesn't spoil and tastes good to everyone. As it turned out, there is nothing complicated about this process.
Ingredients
- Peeled cabbage - 10 kg
- Rock salt - 100 gr
- Peppercorns
- Bay leaf
- Carrots
- Beetroot
The way of cooking
1. Mash the cabbage well with your hands until it releases its juice. Add carrots and beets to taste.
2. Put the cabbage in the jars and tamp it down thoroughly. Put the apple on top and close the lid.
3. Put the jar on a plate and put it in a warm place for three days.
4. Add salt water to the top of the jar, close the lid.
5. Put it in a cool, dark place for 20 days and then enjoy.
