Where to relax in nature in Ukraine

The Kyiv Cave Monastery, Khortytsia Island, and the Podilski Tovtry National Nature Park are incredible wonders of our country. But it's not just castles and fortresses that our country can boast of. Our land hides many secrets. We're going to tell you what every Ukrainian should see at least once in their life.

Svitiaz Lake

The deepest lake in Ukraine. It is located in the Volyn region on the territory of the Shatsk National Nature Park. The coastline of the reservoir stretches for 30 kilometers.

Pine, birch and oak trees grow along the coast.

It is said that the reservoir was formed after the retreat of the Dnipro glacier more than 10 thousand years ago. It is also believed to be of karst origin.

Many tourists come here in summer. Beaches and swimming areas have been set up here. You can also rent cottages and houses.

There is a legend that once there was a city here that was flooded along with its inhabitants. A woman made such a request to the gods to avoid falling into the hands of enemies. It is said that in clear weather you can hear the bells coming from the underwater world.

Dniester Canyon

A protected area within the Chortkiv district of Ternopil region. The park was created to preserve historical and cultural buildings and objects of the forest-steppe zone. It is washed by the Dniester River.

The attraction is characterized by travertine rocks and geological formations of bizarre shapes. There are grottoes, caves, and waterfalls. In the underground labyrinths, tourists can see colorful crystals.

Many relict and endemic plants also grow here. In particular, Turk's cap lily, Dwarf Russian almond, gas plant and ound-headed leek.

The area is also home to hares, badgers, foxes, and wild pigs.

Optymistychna Cave

It is located in the Ternopil region, southwest of Korolivka. Interesting fact: the cave is included in the Guinness Book of Records. The length of its passages stretches for more than 267 kilometers.

Speleologists from different countries took part in the study of the location: Bulgaria, Poland, etc. About 260 expeditions were conducted here.

Synevyr Lake

The largest lake in the Ukrainian Carpathians. It is located in Khust district of Zakarpattia region at an altitude of 989 meters above sea level.

The reservoir was formed due to a powerful landslide caused by an earthquake about 10 thousand years ago. The surrounding areas are home to red deer, roe deer, bear, wolf, fox, and lynx.

The natural wonder is famous for its steep slopes, old spruce trees and plants listed in the Red Book of Ukraine.

There is a legend that the lake was created because of tears of the count's daughter Syn as her beloved was killed there.

Buzkyi Gard National Nature Park

Located within Mykolaiv region. The geological monument of world significance is an erosion form of relief formed by the Southern Buh.

The rocks are approximately 60 million years old. The flora and fauna of the center is extremely diverse and includes many rare and endangered species. In particular, Dianthus hypanicus, Stipa graniticola, Aesculapian snake, and booted eagle.

It is said that the attraction is a prototype of the mythical city of Asgard.

Tunnel of Love

Located near the village of Klevan in Rivne region. The center had no alternatives for a long time. But in 2017, a similar place was opened in China.

The forest path was created because of the movement of shunting trains to a woodworking plant.

Themed photo shoots are often organized here. Locals say that if you kiss in the tunnel and make a wish, it will definitely come true.
