Lower price and make it cooler: a new Mercedes crossover is being prepared for sale
The Mercedes EQC model is the first electric crossover of the German brand. It's time to upgrade the car – the second-generation EV will go on sale as a cheaper offer with cool technologies and a different name.
The new EQC is expected to be more affordable and technologically advanced than its predecessor. New details about the 2nd generation Mercedes EQC are published by Carscoops. The current lineup of Mercedes electric crossovers includes five models. But it was the EQC that was the company's first electric SUV.
The car will be built on the new MB.EA platform, which allows you to work with the most advanced technologies. In addition, the car will change its name to Mercedes GLC and be positioned as its electric alternative.
The photo shows a camouflaged prototype. Design details are kept secret, but we can already see important changes. Large rounded headlights and a sleek, streamlined nose are visible from the front. The silhouette has become more squat.
In general, it seems that the second-generation crossover will become more compact. However, due to the use of a new platform, a more spacious interior is expected – the first EQC has some problems with this despite its large body.
That's because the current crossover is built on an adapted platform used in models with internal combustion engines. And the new model will allow for a more competent layout and the installation of a battery pack with increased capacity. Sales of the new electric Mercedes GLC EV are expected to start in 2025 or 2026.
