An adrenaline rush to relax. Places for extreme tourism in Ukraine

ObozrevatelNews
Choose your extreme vacation in Ukraine

Extreme recreation is beginning to take a significant place in the tourism industry. This is evidenced by research by travel companies. We are not talking about the first place, but the number of daredevils is increasing every year in the mountains, caves, on water and underwater.

Psychologists name a lot of reasons for such a climb, and each one may be individual, but the main list includes

  • the desire to escape from the routine of everyday life;
  • the desire to experience new emotions at their peak;
  • to stand out among the crowd "on the sunbeds by the pool";
  • the desire to do something significant in life;
  • a thirst for adventure;
  • curiosity to test your strength;
  • stress relief by switching to bright and physical activities, etc.

At the same time, it is noted that the age of people who choose extreme destinations and routes of tourism is mature, in the range of 35-45 years. Tour operators emphasize that in order to get maximum pleasure and the desired effect from outdoor activities, you need to be properly informed and prepared.

We have collected the most extreme routes in Ukraine in the mountains, caves on the water and underwater to add incredibly picturesque views to the adrenaline rush.

Mountain routes

The Ukrainian Carpathians offer unlimited possibilities for extreme snowboarding, mountain biking, breathtaking rock climbing and fast rafting with a difficulty of up to 4 points (out of a maximum of 6).

From the Kukul meadow to Hoverla

The route, which was closed 4 years ago, had another "birthday" in 2020, thanks to the Carpathian activists. This was reported by the Western Courier.

"Only a few people have walked it completely, without tempting detours around windy areas. However, even this route, which is full of trees, attracts a lot of tourists, because it is a direct (in fact, very hilly) way from Kukul to Hoverla."

The route is interesting not only for its complexity, but also for the rare animals whose tracks you will meet next to yours.

Black piste on Dragobrat

Ski and snowboard lovers are looking forward to the opening of the season on Dragobrat and Bukovel. The extreme winter routes include 5 Black Trails of Dragobrat, where you will need maximum skills and strength of mind. Rising by a multi-lift to 3,300 meters above sea level, you will start receiving doses of adrenaline on the way up.

Bukovel also has its own Black variants of pleasure and adrenaline trails. Be prepared for slipping on sheer cliffs and sharp turns.

Extreme cycling

If you are interested in a 5 out of 5 difficulty level, look for the Pylypets Bike Park and its Super Mario track #1. You will have to withstand the adrenaline rush for 2.35 km. Interesting, fun, extreme.

Conquer the rocks

If your training grounds for rock climbing in Ukraine have already been the Kamianets-Podilskyi area, Butskyi Canyon, Denyshi in Zhytomyr region, or the Dovbush cliffs, it's time to conquer new places and peaks. We hope that the opportunity to conquer the rocks of Yuzhnoukrainsk or Crimea, the difficulty of which on some routes is of category 7-b, will appear in the coming years.

Hold on to the paddle

In recent years, rafting has become one of the most popular experiences that tourists want to include in their vacation. Thanks to the large number of places with a beginner level of difficulty, rafting is a great idea for a family vacation. We failed to find the 5th and 6th level of rafting difficulty in Ukraine. Therefore, level 4 is the highest, although it can be made more difficult by choosing early spring, when the snow begins to melt in the Carpathians and the rivers rush down the laid gutters in a tumultuous stream. The section between the village of Yamna and the Probiy waterfall in the Carpathians is considered to be interesting and extreme.

The underground world of Ukraine impresses with its beauty and amazing stone cities. Atlantis, Optimistic, Mlynky, Crystal, Verteba, Ozerna, Cinderella, Skytska - this is the list of caves that are a must-see in Ukraine. Many of them are already customized for tourists and you can spend an impressive weekend.

Several caves can offer extreme descents. However, the Optimistic Cave will impress you with the incredible beauty of underground springs and crystal rooms.
