There is a unique landscape in Dulan County, Qinghai Province in northwestern China. A river with colored waters that never mix. The striking and clear separation between the two bodies of water is due to changes in the origin and therefore the bottom sediments in each of them.

An incredible video posted on the social network X shows the "meeting point" between the ice-blue waters of the Quaidam River and the dark red waters of the Wulansusu River. Here, you can see a clear line where they converge in the town of Xiangjia, creating a stunning image.

The blue Quaidam River flows through the Quaidam Basin in China's Qinghai Province. It features snow-capped mountains and grasslands dotted with wildlife. The basin consists of a blue salt lake, which makes the water clear and cool, writes The Sun. And the Wulanwusu River, which flows from Lake Alake on the southern border of the Quaidam Basin, is dark red. It is known as the "red water river" and flows through an area of red rock or red sandstone.

At the confluence of the two rivers in Dulan County, the distinct blue and red waters continue their journey without flowing into each other.
