Who blew up Nord Stream: German diver refutes the version of Ukrainian saboteurs
It was virtually impossible to blow up the Nord Stream subsea gas pipelines by several "Ukrainian saboteurs" from the Andromeda yacht. And the investigation of the crime made a number of mistakes.
This opinion was expressed by German underwater archaeologist Sven Thomas in an interview with BILD. He believes that the investigators' version is incorrect.
"For almost two years, the international media have been discussing the version that the Nord Stream gas pipelines were blown up by a group of Ukrainian saboteurs who rented the sailing yacht Andromeda. The Ukrainians allegedly loaded diving equipment and explosives on board, and then set it up at the bottom of the Baltic Sea at a depth of about 80-90 meters," the publication recalls the background.
However, German underwater archaeologist Sven Thomas refuted this version and considers it impossible. According to him, an underwater dive requires not just one yacht, but a whole group of vessels plus a fixed platform with cranes, anchors, and ballast weighing about 1 ton.
So, in order to dive from the yacht, it would have to be precisely fixed above the site of the planned sabotage. To do so, it would have been necessary to lower 3-4 heavy anchors with ropes 300-500 meters long to the bottom, otherwise the yacht would have been carried away in the open sea by wind and waves.
The second argument of Sven Thomas, which proves the impracticability of such a sabotage, is the power of the Andromeda's engine, which is 75 horsepower.
"This would not be enough to stay in the Nord Stream area through constant maneuvering. In addition, the yacht would not be able to take on board 400 kg of explosives," the diver believes.
Earlier, US presidential candidate and former head of state Donald Trump responded to criticism from his opponents who spoke of his ties to Russia. He called those who consider him a "friend of Russia" "sick." As proof of the opposite, Trump mentioned the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, noting that it was he who stopped the construction of this important project for Russia.

- the Polish Prosecutor General's Office said that they did not find the man at his address on Polish territory. He left Poland for Ukraine in early July.
- At the same time, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk shamed the supporters of the investigation into the explosion of the Russian Nord Stream gas pipeline. He advised them not to make a fuss.
- In general, the Nord Stream bombing is becoming a legend and seems to be a protest of the "new" Europe against the "old" one. After the West was literally taken off the Russian gas needle, the EU mentally changed its attitude to the Russian war, writes Orest Sohar, editor-in-chief of OBOZ.UA.
- By the way, the insurers decided not to pay Russia for the blown up Nord Stream. The companies explained in court that the policies did not cover the risks of war or sabotage.
