A historical monument from the times of Kyivan Rus was found in Volyn. It was a carved stone slab depicting two angels.
The artifact of the XII-XIII centuries was discovered by prosecutors of the Lutsk District Prosecutor's Office. It will be transferred to the National Museum of History of Ukraine, the website of the Prosecutor General's Office reports.
The museum will examine the monument for its scientific, cultural, artistic and historical value.
The monument was saved from illegal sale at auction and transferred to the museum.

According to the website, the museum had previously received a slab depicting the Holy Warrior, also from the era of Kiyian Rus. Law enforcement officers saved the 12th- and 13th-century monument from being illegally sold at auction.
The two historical values were found as part of a criminal investigation. It concerned the misappropriation by a person of found or other property that he or she accidentally got (Part 1 of Article 193 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
