The leader of the Ukrainian national biathlon team, Dmytro Pidruchny, admitted that he experienced a lot of unpleasant feelings after finishing the pursuit race at the 2nd stage of the World Cup. The 32-year-old native of Ternopil finished 19th, while in the last meters our compatriot made a real fight with Czech biathlete Michal Krzmarz.

During the finish, Dmytro fell, accidentally hitting himself in the stomach. As a result, the Ukrainian laid on the snow for some time.

"I fought to the end for every position. They shouted at me that I was 21st or 22nd, so I figured I could fight for the top twenty. So I fought with my rivals to the end. And at the end, when I had already made a split, I was a little shaky, fell down and hit my stomach with a stick. So at the finish line I had to lie down a little bit, to cry out in pain," biathlon.com.ua quoted Pidruchny as saying.

At the end of the interview, Dmytro added that he still has pain from the impact.

"But in general, it's more or less normal," the biathlete added.
