Telegram will disclose data of users who violate messenger rules

Telegram application has updated the terms of use and discloses the data of users who violated the rules of the messenger. Now Telegram management will provide IP-addresses and phone numbers of violators in case of requests from state authorities.

This was announced by the founder of the company Pavel Durov. He noted that artificial intelligence was brought in to update the messenger.

Durov noted that the search in the Telegram application is more powerful than in other messaging programs, because it allows users to find public channels and bots. However, some users abuse this feature.

That's why in recent weeks a special team with the help of artificial intelligence has made Telegram search safer.

"All the problematic content we found in Search is no longer available. If you still managed to find something dangerous or illegal in Telegram's Search, please let us know via a special bot," Durov emphasized.

Also according to the messenger founder, in order to deter attackers from abusing the "Search" function in Telegram, the "Terms of Use" and "Privacy Policy" have been updated.

"We have made it clear that IP addresses and phone numbers of those violating our rules can be disclosed to the relevant authorities in response to legitimate requests," Durov emphasized.

In his opinion, such measures should deter criminals, because the search in Telegram is designed to find friends and news, not to promote illegal goods.
