Pumpkin manna cake without eggs and flour: grandma's recipe
Manna cake is an incredibly easy-to-make cake that is most often served for breakfast. But if you add certain ingredients to it, it turns into a delicious dessert that even fussy guests are not ashamed to serve.
The Ukrainian Grandmother Facebook page recently posted a recipe for pumpkin manna, which is made without adding eggs. This unusual dessert is sure to please everyone, even those who don't like pumpkin.
Ingredients:
- Pumpkin - 300 gr
- Lemon - 1 piece
- Kefir - 250 ml
- Sugar - 250 gr
- Semolina - 270 gr
- Baking powder - 2 tsp
- Water - 120 ml
The method of preparation:
1. Peel the pumpkin from seeds and peel. Grate the flesh on a grater.
2. Mix pumpkin with kefir. Add 100 grams of sugar and semolina.
3. Add baking powder and lemon zest.
4. Stir with a whisk until all the ingredients are evenly distributed.
5. Turn on the oven to 180 degrees.
6. Put the cake in the mold and bake for 45 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick.
7. Combine 150 grams of sugar, water, and lemon juice in a saucepan.
8. Turn on the heat and cook for three minutes over medium heat.
9. Pour the syrup over the mannik and leave it for 30 minutes or better yet, overnight.
