"I didn't see Russians committing war crimes": Ukrainians stirred up social media with their response to the propaganda film Russians at War. Photo
A flash mob about the war crimes of the Russian army is spreading on social media in response to the propaganda film Russians at War. Users are posting photos of the film's director and producers against the backdrop of Russia's worst terrorist attacks.
The action "I don't see war crimes of Russians" was responded to on the United24 platform page on social network X. They called on the world not to listen to Russian propaganda.
"Anastasia Trofimova and most Russians would not see the crimes of their compatriots if we even shoved evidence in their faces. However, this does not mean that we should not do so. Do not listen to the Russians. Drown out their propaganda with facts. Do not allow it to be spread with impunity," the post reads.
Ukrainian producer Darya Bassel noted that "the film is simply about the invasion, as if nothing happened in 2014. The dead Russians and their relatives are not to blame, and they do not need the war. The problem is with politicians who play with people's lives."
Commenting on her film, director Trofimova said in an interview that she "did not see Russians committing war crimes," which is why the flash mob on social media got this name.
Users posted photos from Mariupol, Bucha, Irpin, the flooded Kherson region, and the Okhmatdyt hospital with wounded children, which was shelled by Russian missiles. The film crew of the movie "Russians at War" led by Trofimova was inserted into each photo using Photoshop.
The purpose of the flash mob is to show the director and the world that Russians have committed and continue to commit numerous crimes against humanity and violate the rules of war.
It is worth noting that Anastasia Trofimova is a former employee of the propaganda channel Russia Today, who deliberately distorts the real events of Russia's war against Ukraine and questions the atrocities committed by Russia in Bucha.
As reported by OBOZ.UA:
- The 81st Venice Film Festival hosted the premiere of a Russian documentary called "Russians at War". Propaganda filmmakers are trying to justify war crimes by showing the world the alleged "routine" of their soldiers at the front.
- Next, the Russians planned to show the film in Toronto. The distribution of the film, which aims to "whitewash" the reputation of the occupiers and destroy "stereotypical impressions" of them, caused outrage among representatives of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress.
- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the premiere of the pro-Russian film Russians at War at the Venice Film Festival. The ministry noted that the screening of this film is offensive to the victims of the war unleashed by Russia on Ukrainian soil.
- After mass protests and an official appeal from the Ukrainian government, the Canadian public broadcaster TVO canceled the broadcast of the propaganda film, but there is one big caveat: it will still be seen at the Toronto International Film Festival.
