If you've ever walked into the kitchen and smelled a very unpleasant odor from the trash can, you're not alone. And it's not always possible to get rid of the stench even after thoroughly washing the bin.

The reason for this odor is organic waste, in which bacteria actively multiply. However, there is one simple trick that can help to completely remove all signs of the problem. OBOZ.UA tells you about it.

Of course, you should start by throwing away the garbage, washing the bucket with a good liquid cleaner, and letting it dry. This way, you will remove even traces of liquid that can cause odors.

Choose products with an antibacterial effect. They will not only clean your bucket but also help inhibit the growth of microorganisms that cause odor.

Once the bucket is completely dry, proceed to the scenting stage. Take some cotton balls and soak them in an essential oil of your choice. It can be tea tree or eucalyptus, which have antibacterial properties, soothing lavender, or appetizing cinnamon – the choice is yours. Then place these balls in the bottom of the bucket and put the bag in it. The oil will gradually give off its aroma and prevent the unpleasant odor from developing from the trash can.

Another way is to put a napkin moistened with an antibacterial agent on the bottom of the bucket. It will not give a pleasant aroma, but it will fight the development of bacteria at the bottom of the trash can.
