How to get a broken key out of ignition: simple methods
Among all life's failures, there are some that can be easily and quickly dealt with by knowing a few life hacks. For example, you shouldn't immediately panic when you find yourself outside with a car key stuck in the ignition.

The key can break inside if it has been mishandled, if it is rusty or too worn.
Keys with several deep cutouts have weaknesses: these parts are fragile and can break accidentally. It's worth keeping in mind that the durability of a key is directly related to the material it's made of. For example, aluminum will not last long; it is better to choose a more durable one.
Pliers
If the key is stuck in the car, a simple sudden movement creates a risk that it will break inside. You can remove the key with pliers, which will allow you to easily turn the cylinder to the locked or unlocked position. Alternatively, if you can grasp and straighten the end of the broken key, you can pull it out of the lock without causing damage.
Oil-based fluid
You can also remove the key by lubricating it with oil. Remember that professionals usually use dry lubricant to avoid contaminating the lock. After pouring some oil into the hole, be sure to wipe off the excess around the lock before proceeding.
Bobby pins
For the next method, you'll need two bobby pins. Open them and insert the two tips on either side of the key. Try to lift it from the inside. The secret is to make sure that the tips of the two pins rest on the edges of the key slots. Then gently lift the key so that it can be removed without difficulty.
