Persimmon is not only a delicious but also a very healthy fruit. It can be eaten fresh, used to make various desserts, and dried to enjoy it all year round.

There are several ways to dry persimmons, and every housewife can choose the one that suits her best. FoodOboz has analyzed the methods of drying persimmons.

In the sun

  • Arrange the fruit, cut into slices, on a wire rack or on a cloth so that they do not touch each other.
  • Place the wire rack in a sunny place, but not in direct sunlight.
  • Turn the pieces over from time to time.
  • Persimmons take from a few days to a week to dry.

In the oven

  • Preheat the oven to 60-70°C.
  • Place the persimmon slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment.
  • Put them on the middle shelf in the oven
  • Leave the door slightly ajar
  • Turn the persimmons every 2-3 hours.
  • The drying process will take about 10-12 hours.

In an electric dryer

  • Place the sliced harma in the dryer trays so that they do not touch.
  • Set the temperature to 55-60°C.
  • Dry the persimmons for 8-10 hours, checking occasionally for doneness.

In the microwave

  • Cut the persimmons into slices or cubes.
  • Arrange the slices on a microwave-safe plate.
  • Set the microwave to minimum power.
  • Dry for 30-60 seconds, checking for doneness after each cycle.
  • The whole process takes up to 5 minutes, depending on the power of your microwave.

In the air grill

  • Cut the fruit into slices or cubes
  • Heat the air grill to 60°C.
  • Spread the fruit on a drying rack.
  • Dry the persimmons for 4-6 hours, checking for doneness every 1-2 hours.

In the refrigerator

  • Cut the persimmons into thin slices
  • Arrange the fruit on a plate in a single layer, without touching each other.
  • Place the plate in the refrigerator.
  • Leave the persimmons to dry for 2-3 weeks, turning the slices occasionally.

With sugar

  • Prepare sugar syrup in a 1:1 ratio
  • Cut persimmons into random pieces and add them to the syrup
  • Leave the fruit in the syrup for 2-3 hours.
  • Take out the persimmons and let them drain well
  • Dry the fruit in the oven or dryer at 60°C until it is ready.
