How to avoid blinding in a car: life hack with a rearview mirror
It is easier to get into a traffic accident at night because the driver can be blinded by an oncoming car or a car following behind. For this reason, dipped beam was created, which is not as harsh on the eyes as the rules require when driving oncoming traffic. But there are still some life hacks that help solve this problem.
OBOZREVATEL talks about a trick with a rearview mirror. Experienced drivers use it to avoid getting a blinding light from the vehicle behind them.
It turns out that the rearview mirror has a so-called "night mode". You can switch to it using a lever located at the bottom of the mirror. Pressing this lever changes the angle of the mirror to a less sharp one. In this position, the driver can still see everything that is happening behind him, but the light does not cut the eyes as much in case of direct contact.
To switch the mirror back to daytime mode, you need to use the lever again. You just need to press it from the bottom up.
To avoid blinding other drivers, you should also adjust your car's headlights. It is better to direct them slightly to the left of the central longitudinal axis of your car. In this case, they will illuminate the section of the road you need, but will not be directed directly at oncoming drivers, which will be much less dangerous while driving.
