Gunfire and explosions were heard as drones attacked a military airfield in Adygea, and a fire broke out. Video
On the night of Thursday, October 10, drones visited the military airfield of the Russian Aerospace Forces in the Republic of Adygea, which is located near the village of Khanskaya. Local residents heard loud explosions, after which a fire broke out near the airfield, possibly a fuel and lubricant depot.
Local publics wrote that Russian air defense systems were operating in the region, as well as that there were arrivals on the territory of the military facility. As proof, Russians posted videos and complained about the "horror" around them.
The first to report the attack were residents of the city of Maikop, who heard "the sounds of humming engines" in the sky around 02:30. Later, according to them, "pops" began to be heard in the area of the airfield.
"It f**ked right over the airfield", "This is what is happening in Maikop, in Khanska. My whole body is shaking. It's horrible," the Russians complained while filming the footage.
As of 04:00, the drone attack continued. According to the ASTRA Telegram channel, a fire broke out near the airfield, as evidenced by NASA's fire monitoring system.
In the morning, the Russians showed footage of black smoke over the airfield, signaling that "everything was shot down."
The Ukrainian OSINT channel Eye of the Mountain suggested that a fuel and lubricant warehouse was burning to the side of the runway at the Khanskaya military airfield in Adygea after the UAV attack. According to an analyst at MT Anderson, there could have been fuel tanks for airplanes or a bomb storage facility.
Later, propagandists reported that the fire at the military airfield had led to the evacuation of residents of Rodnikov, a village of more than a thousand people. According to local authorities, there were no casualties or injuries among the population, and the fire is still being extinguished.
"The Khanskaya military airfield could have been the target of the attack. The Ministry of Defense has not commented on the attack yet," Russians complained.
Khanskaya military airfield is located 3 km east of Khanskaya village and 6 km northwest of the city of Maikop. According to publicly available data, the 272nd training Polotsk aviation base of the Order of Suvorov and Kutuzov of the 2nd category of the Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School of pilots named after A.K. Serov is stationed there.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, on the night of October 9, the 67th BC warehouse of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Defense Ministry was attacked in Karachev, Bryansk region. Among other things, the warehouse was used to store ammunition from the DPRK and guided bombs.
