A simple kitchen tool will help: how to get rid of condensation on the windows
Condensation on windows is a serious problem that is often underestimated. High humidity leads to the rapid growth of fungal spores. Mold provokes many diseases: from skin dermatitis to respiratory diseases.
Condensation usually occurs as a result of a sharp temperature drop. Cleaning specialist Lynsey Crombie shared a simple and affordable life hack to help solve the problem.
A drop of dishwashing detergent can be the key to eliminating condensation and preventing it from reappearing. Excessive humidity occurs when warm air meets a cooler surface, such as a window, resulting in the formation of moisture droplets.
Dishwashing detergent acts as an invisible protective layer on the window - just add one drop, as too much foam will cause streaks.
Apply a small amount of dish detergent to a dry microfiber cloth and wipe the glass. This will create a barrier and prevent condensation.
White vinegar is an equally effective component. You should regularly wash windows and window sills with a solution of warm water and vinegar - this will be an excellent prevention of mold. Acidic components are effective disinfectants and destroy bacteria and fungal spores.
You can also treat the affected areas on the windowsill with a paste mixture of water and baking soda and wash thoroughly with water.
