On Sunday, September 8, the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation reported a new UAV attack. It hit a fuel storage site, and a fire broke out there.
This was stated by the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov. The drone hit a facility in the Volokonovsky district.
Local residents posted footage of the fire on social media. It was reported that fire crews were extinguishing the fire.
"Information about the consequences is being clarified. All operational services are working at the scene," Gladkov said.
Later, he wrote that three other settlements in the Belgorod region were attacked by drones. According to the governor, there were no casualties.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on the alleged suppression of an attempt by the "Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack with aircraft-type UAVs" against targets in Russia.
"One UAV was destroyed over the territory of the Belgorod region and one over the territory of the Kursk region by regular air defense systems," the terrorist agency assured.
As OBOZ.UA reported, on September 8, explosions were heard in the Russian city of Belgorod. The "bavovna" was followed by "smoke".
