If you dream of living somewhere in the Swiss Alps but think it's too expensive, you're not wrong. However, in the village of Albinen, they are even ready to pay you for moving. This idyllic Swiss community is ready to welcome newcomers with open arms, but there are nuances.

They are ready to pay 20,000 Swiss francs (21,500 euros) for an adult and 10,000 Swiss francs for a child. The details were reported by the Express.

Imagine waking up in the middle of snow-capped peaks, breathing fresh mountain air, and knowing that your family is in one of the safest and happiest places in the world.

As Wayne Mills, Head of Operations at Seven Seas Worldwide, says, "You get a fresh start and a helping hand, while the local economy gets a much-needed boost."

Switzerland is one of the wealthiest countries in the world, offering efficient public services, high levels of healthcare, and a more relaxed pace of life without sacrificing access to modern conveniences.

What sets Switzerland apart is the combination of natural beauty and practicality. The country is making progress in all areas: from tourism and quality education to a stable economy.

Albinen's proposal is one of several global initiatives aimed at addressing the problem of population decline in rural areas.

"Switzerland is regularly cited as one of the safest and happiest countries in the world, and Albinen is a great example of this. It's peaceful, safe and comfortable. Albinen offers an incredible quality of life," said Mills.

Albinen is a small village in the Valais region. The population does not exceed several hundred. There are thermal baths and ski facilities in the neighboring town of Leukerbad, and the major cities of Bern and Geneva can be reached in just a few hours.

To be eligible for financial incentives, you need to meet several requirements:

  • age - candidates must be under 45 years old;
  • time - the candidate must commit to living in Albinen for at least ten years;
  • financial investment - the candidate undertakes to purchase or build real estate worth at least CHF 200,000.

Countries such as Italy, Japan, and Greece have also recently launched similar initiatives to revitalize rural areas and combat the demographic crisis. For example, some Italian villages sell houses for as little as 1 euro, and some Japanese cities offer grants to remote workers who want to move.
